Blind Ltd
Lead designer for screen graphics on all Disney era Star Wars films (Episodes VII, VIII, IX, Rogue One, Solo), and streaming series (Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi).
Establishing the design language for the Disney era of Star Wars was a particularly potent design challenge, to respect the past and provide a blueprint for all computer graphics moving forward. The process involved extracting a universal design language from the original films which incorporated classic minimalism, elegant exoticism and analogue technology to create a viable coherent design system.
Highlights included; recreating the Millennium Falcon’s targeting computer, designing and controlling graphics in real-time on Rogue One's Death Star Control Room, creating bespoke display hardware on Solo simulating physical liquid containers and impossible non-rectilinear screens, designing Obi-Wan Kenobi’s “quadnoculars.”
